Date: June 10, 2023 – The NeoLiberal Post
Introduction:
On May 26th 2023, Mr. John Anthony Castro, a GOP 2024 Presidential Candidate, came back to discuss his lawsuit against Former President Donald Trump for part 3 of the Castro V Trump series on The NeoLiberal Round Podcast. Mr. Castro’s ongoing lawsuit challenges Mr. Trump’s 2024 Presidential bid charging that his role in providing aid and comfort to the January 6th insurrectionists is a violation of Section 3 of the 14th Amendment. Additionally, the interview touched upon other current news topics, including Ron DeSantis’ announcement and AI Tax, a company for which Mr. Castro holds the patent.
Podcast Dialogue:
Renaldo McKenzie: Welcome to another episode of The NeoLiberal Round. Today, we have the Castro V Trump series, and joining us is Mr. John Anthony Castro. We are eagerly awaiting his presence for this powerful episode. But first, we have some breaking news.
Renaldo McKenzie: Just before we begin, we have breaking news. Stewart Rhodes, the leader of the Oath Keepers, has been convicted of seditious conspiracy and sentenced to years in prison for his role in the January 6th insurrection. This case draws parallels to Mr. Castro‘s argument, and we will discuss this with him shortly.
Renaldo McKenzie: And now, let’s see if our guest, Mr. John Anthony Castro, has joined us for the interview.
Renaldo McKenzie: Welcome, John. It’s great to have you here. How are you doing?
John Anthony Castro: I’m doing well. Thank you. It’s good to see you again.
Renaldo McKenzie: Likewise. I heard you’re into gardening. Is that true?
John Anthony Castro: Yes, indeed. I enjoy gardening and have various fruit trees and plants in my garden.
Renaldo McKenzie: That’s fantastic. Gardening can be therapeutic. Maybe one day, I’ll have to visit your garden to see your work.
Update on Castro V Trump Lawsuit:
Trial Update: During the interview, Mr. Castro provided an update on the status of his lawsuit against Mr. Trump. He revealed that Judge Aileen Cannon has not yet ruled on the motion to dismiss. As of [date], the response time has exceeded the court’s average, which requires the judge to send a notice and explanation to the parties involved. Mr. Castro expressed his concerns regarding the delay in receiving a ruling, as it hampers his right to seek redress in the Federal judiciary. However, he emphasized that regardless of the court’s decision, he has a plan in place to continue his campaign.
Interview Dialogue:
Renaldo McKenzie: Now, let’s dive into the main topic. Please provide us with an update on your lawsuit against Mr. Donald Trump.
John Anthony Castro: As I suspected, Judge Eileen Cannon has not yet ruled on the motion to dismiss. Once we reach the prescribed number of days without a ruling, she is obligated to send an explanation to the parties involved. The average response time for a judge’s ruling on a motion to dismiss is within the timeframe we are approaching.
John Anthony Castro: In an interesting development, the Federal Election Commission (FEC) has delisted me as a candidate, even though they previously argued that they don’t have the authority to determine eligibility. However, their actions hold no legal weight, as candidacy is determined by actions, not paperwork.
John Anthony Castro: Despite the delay in the court’s ruling and the attempts to delist me, I remain determined to move forward with my campaign. I will head to New Hampshire to start campaigning, meeting with state legislators, and seeking endorsements. I am confident in my ability to gather the necessary signatures to be on the New Hampshire primary ballot as a presidential candidate.
Discussion on Stewart Rhodes’ Conviction:
Renaldo McKenzie informed Mr. Castro about the recent conviction and sentencing of Stewart Rhodes, the leader of the Oath Keepers, for his involvement in the January 6th insurrection. They discussed the similarities between Rhodes’ case and the argument Mr. Castro is making against Mr. Trump. Mr. Castro pointed out that Rhodes and others blamed Trump for their actions, establishing a conspiracy. He believes it’s only a matter of time before all the pieces align to hold Trump liable for his role in the insurrection.
Interview Dialogue
Renaldo McKenzie: Speaking of the insurrection, Stewart Rhodes, the leader of the Oath Keepers, has been convicted and sentenced to 18 years in prison for his role in inciting violence. Do you see any similarities between his case and your argument against Trump?
John Anthony Castro: Absolutely. Rhodes and others have blamed Trump for their actions, which establishes Trump’s involvement in the conspiracy. It’s just a matter of connecting the dots and holding Trump accountable for his role in the insurrection. This conviction further strengthens my argument and the need for justice.
Ron DeSantis as a Backup Plan:
Regarding Ron DeSantis, Mr. Castro mentioned that if Trump remains eligible or does not drop out, DeSantis has no chance of winning. He suggested that DeSantis is positioned as a backup plan for the Mega faction within the Republican Party. Mr. Castro explained that DeSantis serves to rally the Mega faction behind him in case Trump’s candidacy is disqualified, preventing Mr. Castro from becoming the sole viable option.
Interview Dialogue
Renaldo McKenzie: Let’s switch gears a bit. With the possibility of Trump’s disqualification, what are your thoughts on Ron DeSantis and his potential candidacy?
John Anthony Castro: If Trump remains eligible or doesn’t drop out, DeSantis has no chance of winning. He is positioned as a backup plan for the Mega faction within the Republican Party. DeSantis serves to rally the Mega faction behind him in case Trump’s candidacy is disqualified, preventing me from becoming the sole viable option.
Next Steps for the Campaign:
Renaldo McKenzie: Before we conclude, could you give us a glimpse of your upcoming plans for the campaign?
John Anthony Castro: In about three weeks, I will be heading to New Hampshire to meet with state legislators, unions, and elected officials. I will seek critical endorsements and gather support for my campaign. Understanding party politics in primary elections is crucial, and I believe I have a strong strategy to secure the necessary backing.
