Last night, I watched Captain America: Brave New World, and I have mixed feelings about it. As a superhero action movie, I would rate it a 5/10—it leaned far more into drama than action, and when action sequences did appear, they often felt contrived, almost as if I were watching a simulation rather than an organic, high-stakes battle. The lack of thrilling, immersive action sequences left a lot to be desired, especially for those expecting the high-energy spectacle characteristic of Marvel films.

That being said, Brave New World does what many superhero films fail to do—it integrates its action sequences seamlessly into the storyline rather than forcing them in for mere visual appeal. Unlike other films in the genre where action can feel botched or abrupt, the sequences in Captain America were well-woven into the narrative. This is where the film redeems itself, making it feel more like a drama than a typical superhero flick.

As a drama, I would rate the movie 7/10. The storyline was relatively strong, with a well-developed plot that kept me engaged despite the lack of high-impact action. It was a refreshing change from the often incoherent, over-the-top action films that rely on spectacle over substance. The film also avoided the quirky humor that has diluted other Marvel productions, such as Ant-Man or Wolverine.

Overall, I give Captain America: Brave New World a 5/10. If you are looking for a classic superhero action-packed experience, you may leave disappointed. However, if you appreciate a more grounded, dramatic approach, this film might be a worthwhile watch—especially as a family-friendly movie on a Sunday night.
