The Jamaican “Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade” released an official statement acknowledging Palestine as a State after years of not publicly doing so. The Ministry is a department of the Government of Jamaica, a cabinet ministry under the elected Prime Minister of Jamaica, who is currently Andrew Holness. The Prime Minster tweeted yesterday April 4, 2024, stating that; “Jamaica continues to advocate for a two-state solution as the only viable option to resolve longstanding conflict, guarantee the security of Israel and uphold the rights of the Palestinians. #Peace“.
